Head-on crash involving semi kills 1 on FM2126 in Brown Co.

BROWN CO., TX – A 79-year-old man from Early died early Friday morning after his vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler along a major roadway near Brownwood, reports San Angelo Live.

The incident happened around 4 a.m. on Farm to Market Road 2126 just east of Brownwood and southwest of US-84.

The investigation thus far indicates that a southbound 2014 Ford Fusion veered into the northbound lane of FM 2126 and crashed head-on into a 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer.

The unrestrained driver of the Ford Fusion died at the scene of the accident. Authorities identified him as Thomas Montagna from Early.

The driver of the semi-truck did not sustain injuries in the collision.

A full investigation is underway.
