Truck driver hurt in 2-vehicle crash on I-20EB in Lancaster

LANCASTER, TX – Medics airlifted a truck driver to the hospital after his 18-wheeler collided with another vehicle on the interstate in Lancaster Sunday morning, reports Fox 4 KDFW.

The incident happened just after 7 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-20 near Houston School Road, which is just south of the University of North Texas at Dallas.

The investigation indicates that an eastbound semi-truck collided with the rear of a disabled vehicle on the interstate. The semi overturned after leaving the roadway, at which point the driver became entrapped.

Crews worked to extricate the truck driver, who sustained critical injuries in the wreck.

The driver of the disabled vehicle had exited his car prior to the crash and was not injured.

A full investigation is underway.
