Car strikes, kills pedestrian at McCart and Garden Springs

FORT WORTH, TX – A 47-year-old woman died late Monday morning in Fort Worth after a vehicle hit her as she attempted to cross a busy intersection, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident happened around 11:12 a.m. at the intersection of McCart Avenue and Garden Springs Drive, which is in the Hulen Springs Meadow area.

The investigation thus far indicates that a southbound vehicle struck the pedestrian as she was walking east in the crosswalk at the intersection.

The woman died at the scene of the accident. Officials have not yet released her name to the public.

The driver of the vehicle initially fled the scene but did return later to speak with officers about the incident.

A full investigation is underway.
