2-vehicle collision in SE Collin Co. kills 2, hospitalizes 2

NEVADA, TX – Two people died, and two others went to the hospital Thursday following a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in southeast Collin County.

According to DFW Scanner, the incident happened around 9:47 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 543 and County Road 593, which is just west of North Texas Wild Wings Taxidermy.

The investigation thus far indicates that a northbound SUV ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with an eastbound van. The van rotated several times, hitting and killing a 35-year-old construction worker. The accident also resulted in death for a 66-year-old female passenger in the van.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims.

Additionally, medics transported both drivers to hospitals in Plano. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

A full investigation is underway.
