2-vehicle crash near Lakeside in Plano kills 1 on Preston Rd SB
PLANO, TX – One person died on Thursday night in Plano after his vehicle collided with an SUV along a busy roadway in the Lakeside on Preston area.
According to DFW Scanner, the accident happened around 10:44 p.m. on the southbound side of Preston Road between Lorimar Drive and Charles Place.
The investigation thus far indicates that a southbound sedan was speeding when it rear-ended an SUV before leaving the roadway and crashing into a tree. The car ignited, and the driver died at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not yet released his identity to the public.
The driver of the SUV did not sustain injuries in the collision.
A full investigation is underway.
