Alva Razo Killed in DUI Crash on North Desert Boulevard at North Mesa Street in El Paso
El Paso, TX. (July 25, 2023)- 72-year-old Alva Aida Razo was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on July 22, 2023, in El Paso, Texas. The accident occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. at the North Desert Boulevard and North Mesa Street intersection. Police reported that the driver of Mercedes Benz was traveling at a high rate of speed when they rear-ended Hyundai Sonata that was stopped at the red light. The impact then caused a chain reaction between the Sonata, a Hyundai Elantra and a Ford F-150. Alva, a passenger in the Sonata, was transported to an area hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. No other injuries were reported. It is believed that speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. The driver of the Mercedes was issued a warrant for intoxication manslaughter. No further details have been provided at the time. The crash remains under investigation.
