Motorcyclist killed in crash with sedan at Lamar and 5th in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, TX – A 40-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday morning after colliding with a car at a busy intersection in downtown Fort Worth, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident happened around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Lamar Street and West 5th Street, which is near Frost Bank and the Downtown Market.

The investigation thus far indicates that a northbound motorcycle hit as southbound sedan as the latter vehicle turned left from Lamar Street onto West 5th Street.

The motorcyclist died after transport to a Fort Worth hospital. Authorities say the victim is from Fort Worth, but they have not yet released his identity to the public.

Police believe speed may have been a factor in the crash. A full investigation is underway.
