2 pickup trucks collide along US-287 near Cayuga, killing 2

ANDERSON CO., TX – A 23-year-old man and a 36-year-old man died one month ago near Cayuga when their vehicles collided head-on along the highway.

According to My Texas Daily, the incident occurred on Friday, August 11th, at 5:18 p.m. on US-287 just east of Cayuga, which is northwest of Bethel and southeast of Waxahachie.

The investigation indicates that the driver of a westbound Ford F250 attempted to pass a vehicle ahead of him by entering the eastbound lane. He then collided head-on with an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado. Both trucks ignited after the collision, and both drivers died at the scene.

Authorities identified the victims as Cody Austin Beard in the Silverado and Morgan Warrick in the Ford F250.

Police say that the crash happened in a no-passing zone.

The investigation is ongoing.
