Police id victim, seek suspect in Denton hit-and-run at University and I-35

DENTON, TX – Police have identified the pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run crash last month in Denton, and they continue to look for the driver involved.

As reported by NBCDFW 5, police identified the 60-year-old pedestrian killed in the September 24th crash at I-35 and West University Drive as Christopher Yarmie.

The investigation identified the vehicle that struck Yarmie as a dark-colored Peterbilt truck hauling a livestock trailer.

Authorities say the incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. on the northbound service road of I-35 at West University Drive. The semi-truck fled the scene of the accident via University where it was last spotted.

Denton Police have released images of the truck and request that anyone with information or tips to share contact the Denton Police Department.
