Alleged DUI driver strikes, kills two pedestrians on Military Parkway near Donna Dr

DALLAS, TX – Two pedestrians died Sunday morning in Dallas after an alleged DUI driver struck them along the side of a busy roadway in the Parkdale area.

The crash happened around 5 a.m. near the intersection of Military Parkway and Donna Drive, which is just southwest of Urban Park Elementary School.

Police say that a 23-year-old driver was likely intoxicated when he veered off of Military Parkway and hit two people standing next to a vehicle. The driver also struck the empty vehicle.

Authorities pronounced both pedestrians deceased at the scene of the crash. They identified one of the victims as 21-year-old Lester Matute-Urquea. They’ve not yet released the identity of the second victim.

Police arrested the driver, identified as Joel Rosales-Perez, on charges of intoxication manslaughter.
