Walton Walker near TX-183 blocked in Irving by 18-wheeler on fire

IRVING, TX – Officials closed all lanes of Walton Walker near the University of Dallas on Friday morning after a semi-truck caught fire on the roadway, reports KRLD Traffic.

The incident happened sometime around 9:38 a.m. on Loop 12 between TX-183 and TX-114, which is in the University Hills area.

It’s not yet clear if a collision caused the 18-wheeler to ignite, or if some other incident started the fire.

The fire blocked all lanes of Walton Walker in between TX-183 and TX-114 while crews investigated and worked to clear the blaze.

There’s no word yet on injuries.
