Police release details of New Year’s Day crash on McKee St in Dallas
DALLAS, TX – Police have shared additional information regarding a crash involving a pickup truck and a motorcyclist in downtown Dallas on New Year’s Day.
According to Fox 4 KDFW, the motorcyclist was standing next to his bike on the sidewalk along McKee Street in downtown Dallas when an intoxicated driver struck him.
The incident happened before 3 a.m. on McKee Street, just west of Botham Jean Boulevard.
Police have identified the motorcyclist as 30-year-old Thomas Toledo. They say Toledo lost his left leg when 26-year-old Keandre Nash hit him with his 2011 gray Nissan Titan. Nash was fleeing the scene of an earlier crash on Botham Jean Boulevard when he hit a Jeep Wrangler before striking Toledo and his parked motorcycle.
Authorities arrested Nash at the scene of the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
