Fiery incident involving semi blocks ramp on Loop 12 NB to Irving

IRVING, TX – Motorists experienced delays early Thursday afternoon along Walton Walker as crews worked to clean up after an 18-wheeler caught fire, reports KRLD Traffic.

The incident happened before 12:14 p.m. on the northbound ramp from South Walton Walker Boulevard, or Loop 12, to Irving Boulevard. This is in the Trinity Oaks area, just northwest of Irving Gold Club.

It’s not yet clear what caused the semi to catch fire, nor do we know if any other vehicles were involved or if anyone sustained injuries.

Officials closed both the ramp and the Loop 12 service road while the fire department extinguished to fire and crews worked to clear the debris.

A full investigation is underway. Our team of news bloggers will post updates to the blog if we learn more about the circumstances of the incident.
