Alleged DUI driver strikes, injures 2 pedestrians at W 7th and University

FORT WORTH, TX – Two pedestrians sustained serious injuries Saturday night when an alleged drunken driver struck them during a Fort Worth police chase, reports Irving Weekly.

The incident happened just after 10 p.m. at the intersection of West 7th Street and University Drive, which is just north of the Artisan Circle shopping center in the Linwood Area.

Police say that 29-year-old Andrew Guerra was driving his gray pickup truck recklessly through the West 7th Entertainment District. Guerra fled when officers attempted a traffic stop.

The investigation indicates that a short time later, Guerra struck a pole, a stopped vehicle, a male and a female pedestrian.

Medics transported the two pedestrians to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police arrested Guerra on charges that include intoxication assault with a vehicle and evading arrest.

The investigation is ongoing.
