Semi-truck strikes two tow truck operators in Duncanville, killing 1

DUNCANVILLE, TX – One person died, and another went to the hospital Wednesday in a crash involving an 18-wheeler on the interstate in southwest Dallas County.

According to DFW Scanner, emergency crews responded to the accident just before 1 p.m. along the eastbound side of I-20 near Cedar Ridge Drive in northwest Duncanville.

The investigation indicates that an eastbound FedEx 18-wheeler struck two people, who were identified as tow truck operators.

The driver of the semi had attempted to pass a vehicle on the right when he entered the shoulder and hit the two victims. They were working on towing a vehicle at the time of the accident.

One of of the tow truck operators died at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not yet released their identity to the public.

Medics airlifted the second victim to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not hurt in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
