Forklift accident at warehouse in Fort Worth’s Alliance area kills elderly employee

FORT WORTH, TX – A 68-year-old woman died Friday in a workplace accident involving a forklift at a distribution center for a major retail store in Fort Worth.

According to Fox 4 KDFW, the incident happened just after 6 a.m. in the area of 15101 North Beach Street, which is just east of I-35W in the Alliance area.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Elena Rios sustained fatal injuries after being pinned between a forklift and a large shelving unit. She died at the scene of the incident.

A legal representative for the family says the victim worked with the company for more than a decade and was qualified to operate the forklift.

The accident is under investigation with OSHA. Our team of news bloggers will share updates if we learn more about the circumstances of the incident.
