Crews investigate train vs. semi crash at N Main and Longhorn in Saginaw

SAGINAW, TX – Crews responded Tuesday morning to a collision involving a train and an 18-wheeler at a busy intersection in Saginaw, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident happened sometime before 9:45 p.m. along the railroad tracks in the area of North Main Street and Longhorn Road, which is just east of Brian Schwengler Memorial Park.

It’s not yet clear what caused the accident or if anyone sustained injuries in the collision.

Photo evidence taken at the scene indicates that the train struck and significantly damaged the trailer portion of the semi-truck.

Drivers likely experienced delays at this intersection Tuesday morning while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
