Driver and passenger seriously hurt in crash with 7-11 sign in Watauga

WATAUGA, TX – Two people sustained serious injuries Monday after crashing into the sign at a convenience store in north-central Tarrant County.

According to NBC DFW 5, the incident happened in the afternoon at the 7-11 in Watauga, which is at the northwest corner of Rufe Snow Drive and Hightower Drive.

Police say the driver and passenger became entrapped in their dark-colored sedan after hitting the sign and required extrication measures. Medics then transported the two occupants with potentially critical injuries.

It’s not yet clear if speed, intoxication, or some other circumstance caused the crash.

A full investigation is underway. Our team of news bloggers will report back if we learn more about the cause of the accident.
