Fatality reported in crash involving semi on US-287 near Alvord

WISE CO., TX – At least one person died late Saturday night after a multi-vehicle crash involving a semi along the highway in north-central Wise County.

According to The Messenger, the incident happened just before 10 p.m., south of Alvord on US-287 northbound near County Road 2395 .

It’s not yet clear what caused the accident or how many vehicles were involved. Furthermore, authorities have not yet released the identity of the the person who died in the collision, and there’s no word yet on additional injuries.

Officials warned of significant delays along the highway for several hours while police investigated and crews worked at the scene.
