Police cite injuries in 5-vehicle crash at TX-161 and Walnut Hill

IRVING, TX – Authorities have released additional details regarding a multi-vehicle crash that closed TX-161 on last Thursday afternoon.

According to CBS News, the incident involved five vehicles, including a semi-truck, and happened on the southbound side of the highway at West Walnut Hill Lane.

Police say that one of the vehicles collided with the rear of the 18-wheeler. It’s still unclear how the remaining vehicles were involved in the accident.

Three people sustained injuries in the crash, and two of those people were seriously hurt.

Officials closed the southbound side of the highway in the area of the wreck while crews worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
