Police investigate hit-and-run that seriously hurt Dallas 5-year-old

DALLAS, TX – A hit-and-run driver struck and killed a 5-year-old child just over a week ago in central Dallas, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. on Sunday, March 31st on Elsie Fay Heggins Street just west of Malcolm X Boulevard. This is just west of Lincoln High School.

Police say a gold vehicle was headed westbound when it struck the child, who was crossing the roadway with an adult.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid.
