Fatality reported in pedestrian crash on LBJ Fwy EB near Skillman

DALLAS, TX – A woman died Thursday from injuries sustained when a vehicle struck her along the freeway in northeast Dallas, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. on the eastbound side of the LBJ Freeway near Skillman Street, which is just west of Garland.

Police say that a female motorist stopped and exited her vehicle after hitting a barrier along the freeway. While standing alongside her car, an eastbound van struck and killed her.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.

The motorist involved in the accident stopped to render aid and speak with police.

A full investigation is underway.
