3-vehicle crash on TX-155 near Berryville kills 3, injures 3

HENDERSON CO., TX – A man and two women died last Thursday after a three-vehicle collision along a highway in southeast Henderson County, reports KLTV 7.

The incident happened just before 5 p.m. on TX-155 near Berryville, which is about 23 miles southwest of Tyler.

Police say that a 2014 Honda Accord struck a 2016 Ford Fusion when the latter vehicle exited a private drive onto the highway without yielding. The collision pushed the Ford into the path of a southbound 2018 Hyundai Elantra, and a second collision occurred.

The 84-year-old driver of the Ford, identified as Douglas Norwood, died in the accident, as did Janet Norwood, his 78-year-old female passenger. A passenger from the Hyundai, identified as 71-year-old Carol Mitchell, also died in the crash.

Medics transported the driver of the Honda, the driver of the Hyundai, and a passenger from the Hyundai to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
