Hit-and-run vehicle strikes, kills teen on Airport Fwy in Richland Hills

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – A 16-year-old boy died Thursday night after a vehicle struck him along a major roadway in North Richland Hills.

According to DFW Scanner, the incident occurred around 8:47 p.m. on the eastbound side of the Airport Freeway near Precinct Line Road, which is just northeast of North East Mall.

It’s not yet clear how the accident occurred and if the victim was walking in a designated crosswalk when the vehicle hit him.

Medics transported the victim to the hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene.

Police say they have located a suspect, but it’s not yet clear if charges are pending. They ask anyone with information or tips to contact the North Richland Hills Police Office.

The investigation is ongoing.
