Hit-and-run driver strikes, injures woman on FM917 in Mansfield

MANSFIELD, TX – Medics airlifted a young woman to the hospital with critical injuries Sunday after she was struck along a Mansfield roadway, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident happened around 1:14 a.m. near 800 FM 917 on the southeast side of the city.

Police say a 21-year-old woman was intoxicated when she fell out of the passenger side of her mother’s car. At least one vehicle hit the woman along FM 917.

The victim went via CareFlight to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth with serious injuries.

The vehicle or vehicles that struck the woman did not stop to render aid and speak with police.

Drivers likely experienced delays in the area of the crash while emergency teams responded to the scene.

A full investigation is underway. Anyone who has tips or information to share about the crash can call the Mansfield Police Department.
