2-vehicle crash at Brookside Dr and WSW Loop 323 kills 22-year-old

TYLER, TX – A 22-year-old died, and another person went to the hospital Wednesday morning after a two-vehicle collision at a busy Tyler intersection, reports KLTV 7.

The incident happened around 8:10 a.m. at Brookside Drive and WSW Loop 323, which is just northwest of Broadway Square and the French Quarter Shopping Center.

Police say that a westbound motorcycle collided with a Volkswagen when the latter vehicle turned left from WSW Loop 323 onto Brookside Drive.

The motorcyclist, identified as Abimael Marino, died from injuries sustained in the collision.

Medics transported the driver of the Volkswagen to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
