Wrong-way crash on Hwy 67 near CR 317 in Somervell Co. kills 3

RAINBOW, TX – A head-on collision along the highway killed two men and one woman in central Somervell County on Tuesday afternoon, reports DFW Scanner.

The accident happened around 4:13 p.m. on Highway 67 near County Road 317, which is in the city of Rainbow. This is about 51 miles southwest of Fort Worth.

Police say that an eastbound SUV entered the westbound lanes of Highway 67 and collided head-on with a westbound SUV.

The accident killed both drivers and a passenger in the second SUV. Authorities have not yet disclosed the names of the victims but have referred to them as a 37-year-old man, a 68-year-old man, and a 65-year-old woman.

A full investigation is underway to determine what caused the driver of the eastbound SUV to enter oncoming traffic.
