Pickup truck strikes, kills pedestrian on US-287 SB in Midlothian

MIDLOTHIAN, TX – A 48-year-old man died Thursday afternoon after a vehicle struck him along the highway in east-central Midlothian, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident happened at 12:21 p.m. on the southbound side of US-287 near South Midlothian Parkway. This is just northeast of Midlothian Medical Center.

Police say that the victim was standing on the center median of the highway when he walked in front of a southbound Ford F-150.

The pedestrian died at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not yet released his identity to the public.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene of the accident to render aid and speak to authorities.

Officials closed the southbound side of US-287 in the area of the crash while crews worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
