Major crash at I-20 EB and S Cooper St in Arlington blocks traffic

ARLINGTON, TX – Arlington emergency teams responded to a major crash along the interstate near the mall on Wednesday morning, reports Arlington PD.

The accident happened sometime before 8:42 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-20 at South Cooper Street. This is between South Bowen Road and Matlock Road.

There’s no word yet regarding the cause of the crash or the number of vehicles involved. Additionally, it’s not yet clear if any of the involved parties sustained injuries.

Officials closed the interstate in the area of the collision, asking motorists to exit at Green Oaks Boulevard and re-enter the interstate at Matlock Road or South Collins Street.

The interstate re-opened around 9:38 a.m.
