Street racer causes collision that kills 4, injures 2 at Belt Line and Kingston
GRAND PRAIRIE, TX – A street racing incident caused a two-vehicle crash that killed four people and injured another at a Grand Prairie intersection Saturday, reports WFAA News 8.
The accident happened around 8:15 p.m. at the intersection of South Belt Line Road and Kingston Drive, which is just southeast of Jennifer McFalls Park and west of Mountain Creek Lake.
Police say the driver of a red Dodge Charger was likely racing when the vehicle collided with a northbound Chevy Traverse carrying a family of five people.
Two adults from the Chevy, identified as Jessie Rosales and Lorena Rosales, died in the accident. Two of their children, a 13-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy, also died.
Medics transported their 17-year-old son to the hospital with critical injuries.
The 20-year-old driver of the Charger sustained non-critical injuries and faces multiple charges, including manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
A third vehicle that was racing the Charger at the time of the collision fled the scene. Police located and arrested the 22-year-old driver, who they say also faces charges in connection to the incident.
A full investigation is underway.
