Hit-and-run at Prosperity and Bonnie View kills 47-year-old pedestrian

DALLAS, TX – A 47-year-old man died Sunday after a vehicle struck him along a major roadway in the Cedar Crest area of Dallas, reports CBS News.

The accident happened in the morning at the intersection of Prosperity Avenue and Bonnie View Road, which is just south of William B. Miller Elementary School.

Police say that an intoxicated driver struck and killed Derrick Allen while Allen was walking along Prosperity Avenue. The driver fled the scene of the accident and ultimately crashed into a house in the area.

Allen died at the scene of the crash.

Authorities arrested the hit-and-run driver, identified as 21-year-old Rodolfo Jamaica, on charges of intoxication manslaughter.

A full investigation is underway.
