1 killed, 4 injured in 5-vehicle crash on US-287 near Sublett Rd

ARLINGTON, TX – A multi-vehicle crash caused by an 18-wheeler killed one person and injured four others late Friday night in Arlington, reports Fox 4 News.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. on the northbound side of US-287 near Sublett Road, which is just north of the Tierra Verde Golf Club.

Police say that the northbound driver of a semi-truck rear-ended another semi along the highway after failing to decelerate for slowed traffic. This initial collision started a series of rear-end crashes involving another semi-truck and two SUVs.

The first truck driver died at the scene. Authorities have not yet identified him.

Medics transported four other people involved in the accident to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Drivers likely experienced delays Sunday night along the highway while police gathered evidence and crews worked to clear the scene.
