DART train vs. vehicle crash near Ledbetter Station injures 1

DALLAS, TX – One person went to the hospital Monday after a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) train collided with a vehicle in south-central Dallas, reports WFAA News 8.

The incident happened before 4:30 p.m. just north of Ledbetter Station and near the intersection of South Lancaster Road and East Ledbetter Drive. This is just northeast of the University of North Texas at Dallas.

It’s not yet clear what caused the train to hit the vehicle. Police say that one person in the passenger vehicle became entrapped and required extrication. Medics transported that person to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

No other injuries have been reported in connection to the crash.

Officials warned of delays on the Blue Line while crews investigated the incident and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
