Multi-vehicle crash at Loop 820 and Meadowbrook injures 5

FORT WORTH, TX – A two-vehicle crash involving a police officer injured five people Monday on the east side of Fort Worth, reports NBC 5.

The accident occurred in the afternoon at the intersection of Meadowbrook Drive and Loop 820, which is east of Meadowbrook Golf Course and north of Handley Park.

The cause of the collision remains under review. Photos taken at the scene show a red sedan with heavy front-end damage and a Fort Worth Police Department cruiser with damage to the front and rear doors on the driver’s side.

One person from the sedan sustained critical injuries. Medics transported four others, including a Fort Worth Police Officer, to the hospital. While the injuries remain undisclosed, officials say the officer’s injuries were not serious.

Motorists likely experienced delays in the area of the collision while crews worked to gather evidence, attend to the victims, and clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
