Vehicle strikes, kills teen pedestrian along E Ledbetter near S Marsalis

DALLAS, TX – A teen pedestrian died Friday morning after a vehicle struck and killed him along a busy roadway in south-central Dallas, reports WFAA News 8.

The incident happened in the morning on East Ledbetter Drive between South Marsalis Avenue and University Hills Boulevard, which is north of the University of North Texas at Dallas.

Police say the 14-year-old victim was walking along East Ledbetter Drive when a Mercedes SUV hit him. The teen died at the scene. The investigation thus far indicates that the driver and passenger in the vehicle may have been arguing at the time of the accident.

Authorities arrested the driver of the SUV. They’ve not yet disclosed the nature of the charges pending against that individual.

A full investigation is underway.
