1 killed, 1 injured in 2-vehicle hit-and-run on Canada near Sylvan

DALLAS, TX – Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision that killed one person and seriously injured another early Monday in Dallas, reports Fox 4 KDFW.

The accident happened around 3:15 a.m. on Canada Drive near Sylvan Avenue, which is just south of Trammell Crow Park in the Trinity Groves area. This is just northwest of downtown Dallas.

Police say that at least one vehicle caught fire when a Mustang and a pickup truck collided. The force of the impact threw two people from the pickup truck, and one of them died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their identity to the public.

Medics transported the other occupant of the pickup truck to an area hospital with critical injuries.

Officials are searching for the driver of the Mustang, who fled after the crash. They’ve not yet released a description of the suspect driver.
