Pickup vs. motorcycle crash on Loop 289 near University injures 1

LUBBOCK, TX – A 30-year-old man sustained injuries last Saturday in a two-vehicle crash in south-central Lubbock, reports Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

The accident occurred at 7:51 a.m. along South Loop 289 just east of University Avenue. This is near Trinity Christian School and Middle School.

Police haven’t yet shared any details regarding the cause of the wreck. They say a motorcycle and a pickup hauling a trailer collided along the freeway.

The operator of the motorcycle, identified as Robert Blanco, went to the hospital with serious injuries.

It’s unclear if the driver of the pickup required medical attention.

Motorists likely encountered delays along Loop 289 in the area of the crash while crews worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
