COOKE CO., TX – A major accident involving two semi-trucks and a passenger vehicle killed one person in south-central Cooke County on Friday, reports NBC DFW 5.
The accident happened in the morning on the northbound side of I-35 near Hockley Creek Road. This is just north of Valley View and south of Gainesville.
Officials haven’t yet commented on the cause of the accident or the manner in which the three vehicles collided. They say the crash involved a FedEx semi, a car, and a rock hauler.
The driver of the FedEx truck sustained fatal injuries. Authorities haven’t disclosed their identity to the public.
No other injuries have been reported thus far.
Police say the collision caused a fuel spill, which likely required a response from hazmat teams. Officials closed both sides of the interstate Friday morning while emergency teams attended to the victims and worked to clear the scene.
