1 killed, 1 arrested in 2-vehicle crash at Bruton Rd and Pleasant Dr

DALLAS, TX – A 22-year-old man died, and another person was hurt last Friday in a two-vehicle crash on the east side of Dallas, reports The Dallas Morning News.

The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Bruton Road and Pleasant Drive, which is just south of Pleasant Oaks Recreation Center.

Police say that a westbound pickup truck struck an eastbound vehicle when the latter driver attempted to make a left turn on Pleasant Drive.

The eastbound driver, identified as Joshua Simeon Johnson, died after transport to an area hospital.

Medics transported a passenger form the pickup truck to the hospital with non-critical injuries.

Authorities say the driver of the pickup truck, identified as 25-year-old Steven Castrejon, was speeding at the time of the accident and faces charges that include manslaughter and aggravated assault.

A full investigation is underway.
