Vehicle strikes, kills 2 pedestrians on S Sparks near Bishop in Alvarado

ALVARADO, TX – A man and a woman in their 20s sustained fatal injuries last Wednesday when a vehicle struck them in east-central Johnson County, reports DFW Scanner.

The accident happened just before 5:30 a.m. on South Sparks Street between Bishop Street and East Cotter Street in the city of Alvarado. This is about 28 miles southeast of Fort Worth.

Police say that the two victims and a third pedestrian were walking against oncoming traffic on South Sparks when a vehicle hit them. The woman died at the scene.

Medics transported the other two pedestrians to an area hospital, where one of them later died. The condition of the third pedestrian is unclear.

Authorities have not released the names of the victims, nor have they specified if the driver involved in the accident stopped to render aid and answer questions.

A full investigation is underway.
