Wrong-way crash on S Belt Line in Grand Prairie kills 1, injures 1

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX – Police are researching a wrong-way collision that killed one person and injured another earlier this week in Grand Prairie, reports WFAA News 8.

The accident happened sometime Monday along South Belt Line Road, which runs north to south from Grand Prairie to Cedar Hill. Police haven’t yet provided a cross street for the crash.

Authorities say that for unknown reasons, the northbound driver of a Chevy entered the southbound side of Belt Line Road and collided head-on with a southbound Dodge van.

The northbound driver died after transport to an area hospital. They’ve not yet been identified by police.

Medics transported the southbound driver to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
