Wrong-way crash on US-190 near Livingston kills 1, injures 2
LIVINGSTON, TX – A 74-year-old Lufkin woman died last Thursday night in a wrong-way accident along the highway on the far-east side of Livingston, reports Fox 4 Beaumont.
The crash happened just before 9 p.m. on US-190 just west of Beech Creek Road. This is near both Road & Bridge Precinct 4 and RV World Texas.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of an eastbound 2016 Ford Explorer veered onto the westbound side of the highway and collided with a westbound 2010 Nissan Altima.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as Maria Fernandez, sustained fatal injuries.
Medics airlifted the wrong-way driver and a passenger from Fernandez’s vehicle to a Houston hospital with serious injuries.
A full investigation is underway. Our team of writers will keep apprised of the story and report back if we have updates to share.
