Man killed in crash involving 2 semis on FM 281 in NE Hartley Co.

HARTLEY CO., TX – A 31-year-old man died last Thursday in a crash involving two 18-wheelers along a highway in Hartley County, reports News Channel 10.

The accident happened around 6:40 a.m. along FM 281, which runs east to west in the northeast corner of the county. Officials have not yet provided a mile marker or cross street.

Police say that a westbound 2022 Mack semi struck a trailer that had become detached from an eastbound 2015 Volvo semi. The impact of the crash caused the Mack semi to leave the roadway and crash into a ditch.

The driver of the Mack truck, identified as Jesus Castillo-Rosas of Dumas, died at the scene of the accident.

It’s unclear if the driver of the Volvo truck sustained injuries in the collision.

A full investigation is underway.
