Head-on crash at Bus Hwy 6 and CR 2885 in Marlin kills 2

MARLIN, TX – Two people died in a wrong-way collision along a highway in the southeast suburbs of Waco on Thursday night, reports KCEN TV 6.

The accident happened just before 8 p.m. near the intersection of Business Highway 6 and County Road 2885. This is on the far-south side of Marlin, about 29 miles from Waco.

Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a northbound Cadillac CTS entered the southbound lanes of Highway 6 and crashed head-on into a southbound Chevy Spark hatchback.

The impact of the collision killed both the driver and passenger of the hatchback. Authorities identified the driver of the hatchback as 39-yaer-old Jerry Hocking. They’ve not yet released the identity of the passenger.

Medics transported the wrong-way driver to an area hospital with non-critical injuries. It’s unclear if they will face charges.

A full investigation is underway.
