Mustang rear-ends semi on US-84 near FM 2705, killing driver

LIMESTONE CO., TX – A two-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler killed one person this past Thursday along a highway just west of Mexia, reports Fox 44 News.

The accident happened around 4 p.m. on the eastbound side of US-84 near FM 2705. This is is just north of Lake Mexia and southeast of Mexia State School.

Police say that the driver of an eastbound Ford Mustang rear-ended an eastbound semi-truck when the latter decelerated to make a left turn.

The 19-year-old driver of the Mustang, identified as Damian Molina Jr., died at the scene of the accident. It’s unclear if Molina Jr. was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

No other injuries have been referenced in connection to the collision.

A full investigation is underway.
