Wrong-way crash on Hwy 46 near Diamond Ridge kills 3
BOERNE, TX – Two adults and one teen died Tuesday in a wrong-way crash along the highway in south-central Kendall County, reports News4SA.
The accident happened around 8 p.m. on Highway 46 near Diamond Ridge on the southwestern outskirts of Boerne. This is just west of the Double Diamond Equestrian Center.
Police say that a Ford F-250 Super Duty and a Toyota Corolla sedan collided head-on, killing all of the occupants of the sedan. It’s unclear which vehicle was travelling on the wrong side of the highway at the time of the crash.
Authorities identified the victims as 50-year-old Roger Louis Waid, 53-year-old Patricia Ann Waid, and a 14-year-old boy.
Medics transported the driver of the Ford to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Officials closed TX-46 in the area of the crash while emergency teams assisted the victims and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
