3-vehicle crash at TX-160 and Desert Lake ejects, kills 1

GRAYSON CO., TX – A 29-year-old woman died Friday in a multi-vehicle collision along the highway in southeast Grayson County, reports KTEN 10.

The accident occurred in the morning on TX-160 at Desert Lake Road, which is south of Whitewright and about 61 miles northeast of Dallas.

Police say that a southbound Jeep Patriot rear-ended a truck towing a trailer when the latter vehicle stopped to make a left turn on Desert Lake Road. This initial collision forced the Jeep into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by a northbound vehicle. The impact of the second collision ejected the driver of the Jeep, who sustained fatal injuries.

Authorities identified the victim as Alexandria Pierce of Sherman.

No other injuries have been cited in connection to the accident.

Officials closed the highway in the vicinity of Desert Lake Road while crews worked to gather evidence and clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
