Truck strikes, kills elderly pedestrian on W Henderson in Cleburne

CLEBURNE, TX – An elderly man from Glen Rose died last Tuesday when a truck struck him along a busy Cleburne roadway, reports WFAA News 8.

The accident happened before 8 p.m. on West Henderson Street near the intersection with South Nolan River Road, which is on the west side of the city but just east of US-67.

Police say the victim, identified as 76-year-old Charles Drum, fell while crossing Henderson just before the truck hit him. It’s unclear if he was crossing in a designated crosswalk.

Drum died after transport to an area hospital.

The truck driver was not hurt in the crash.

Motorists likely experienced delays near Henderson and Nolan while emergency teams worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
