Hit-and-run driver strikes, kills man on I-35E near E 8th St

DALLAS, TX – A man died early Sunday when a pickup truck struck him along the interstate just south of downtown Dallas, reports WFAA News 8.

The accident happened just before 5 a.m. on the northbound side of I-35E near East 8th Street, which is northeast of the Dallas Zoo and west of Oak Cliff Cemetery.

Police say the victim was standing next to his disabled vehicle in the right travel lane when the pickup hit him. The driver of the pickup then fled the scene without stopping to render aid and speak with authorities.

The victim in the crash has not yet been identified.

Dallas Police are looking for a Ford F-150 with damage to the mirror on the passenger side. Based on a surveillance video, they believe the truck might be dark green.

Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or captured additional video footage is encouraged to contact the Dallas Police Department as soon as possible, as the investigation continues.
