Crash caused by DUI driver at Rojas and Eastlake in El Paso kills 2

EL PASO, TX – A driver will face charges for causing a two-vehicle collision that fatally injured two people Saturday night in El Paso, reports KFox 14. 

The accident occurred just after 11:30 p.m. at Rojas Drive and Eastlake Boulevard, which is east of I-10 and on the southeast outskirts of the city.

Police haven’t shared many details regarding the crash. They say that a man died at the scene, and a woman died after transport to an area hospital. A third person sustained serious injuries.

Authorities identified the victims as 29-year-old Rick Ballard and 28-year-old Dalia Olivas.

Medics transported the drunk driver that caused the accident to the hospital. They will face intoxication manslaughter charges.

Officials closed the intersection of Rojas and Eastlake while crews gathered evidence, assisted the victims, and worked to clear the wreckage.

A full investigation is underway.
